Multiple award success confirms Top Mops standing and reputation for service excellence across contract cleaning. Receiving awards as ‘Business of the Year’ and ‘Customer Service Award’ at the Business Excellence Awards plus the ‘Mid-Large Business Award’ at the prestigious South Coast Awards. Innovation is also reflected in applying the latest technology to enhance efficiency and ensure a cleaner, safer and healthier environment for its team and clients. With implementation of the latest i-mop System for 90% cleaner surfaces over conventional wet mopping.
Accelerated success and BICSc acclaim
Accelerated success sees 38.5% growth in one year alone, as many new clients are drawn to Top Mops high service standards and competitive contracts. As a result, our team grows by 77 to 276. Added to this Sarah Ford wins the coveted BICSc National Award as ‘Outstanding Candidate of the Year’ plus customer retention increases to 95.5% and staff retention to 92%, unheard of across our industry. Eco-Clean and Waste collections services are added to our growing portfolio of dedicated services including new ‘Tippy Truck’ vehicles being added to our fleet.
Dedicated to excellence
Our dedicated BICSc Approved Training Centre opens at our head offices with fully equipped classroom plus training suite of multiple simulated cleaning environments. Reflecting our commitment to excellence, with all team members now able to achieve their PBICS licenses – something unique in our industry. Our new London office opens to meet increasing demand from parts of the Home Counties and London.
Growth and success continues
Further growth saw our team increase to 199 and customer retention levels reach 90.2% – a reflection of the exceptionally high service standards delivered by our team. To effectively resolve minor maintenance issues for clients we introduced our Handyman service and also Homecare, giving our Isle of Wight domestic customers a helping hand with all their home care needs.
Brand New Office
As a result of hard work and continued growth, Top Mops celebrated 20 years of business in 2018 and moved to their new Head Office. The new building has had a total refurbishment and boasts a conference room and training suite to move the business forward into the next 10 years of trading.
Growth continued across the business and a targeted approach saw Top Mops develop relationships with larger organisations such as the NHS, Industrial and PLC clients. As a result, our Facility Management side of the business was developed and continued to grow at a steady pace over the next year. Reflected in our opening new offices in Southampton to support our teams and new contracts across Hampshire and the south.
To move the business forward Mark Tutty took the decision to employed several key personnel in Director and Management positions and pushed to streamline the business in operational. Top Mops also expanded the mainland Division by gaining work in the Portsmouth, Southampton, Salisbury, Bournemouth and Poole areas and expanded to 180 members of staff across 120 contracts.
Due to continue growth and recommendations we moved to the mainland and opened a small office and picked up a few clients in and around the Southampton Area.
100 Employed Staff
After 10 years of trading and extensive growth Top Mops hit the milestone of employing 100 staff and 80 contracts across the Island, pushing the business into being the largest independent contract cleaning company in the Isle of Wight.
Vehicles & New Office
Top Mops, through steady growth, had taken several staff on and had 2 vehicles on the road. Expansion meant that office space was required and we moved into Spithead Business Centre, Lake (on the Isle of Wight).
Top Mops is Established
Mark Tutty starts Top Mops as one man and a van with a single cleaning client in a caravan park on the Isle of Wight for a few hours a week. Noticing there was no established contract cleaners on the Island, Mark started to push Top Mops forward and 20 years later we became one of the leading independent contract cleaning companies on the South Coast.
We have achieved ISO 9001:2008 which means we operate a quality management system with strict quality control to ensure high standards are maintained.
We also have ISO 14001 which is accreditation for being an environmentally friendly company!
