On Tuesday, 24th September, we had the privilege of participating in a Brew for the Crew event, joining forces with Hovertravel, Island Tea and Coffee, and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA). The goal? To raise much needed funds for this invaluable emergency service through a coffee and cake sale at both Ryde and Southsea Terminals.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of customers, staff, and volunteers, we are delighted to announce that we raised an impressive £753.02 for HIOWAA. Even more excitingly, this takes our total fundraising contribution to over £4,700 to date! This achievement is a testament to the power of community and corporate collaboration, and we are truly grateful for the support received on the day.
A Day of Community Spirit and Generosity
The atmosphere at both terminals was truly inspiring. Passengers and visitors took the time to chat with our staff and the dedicated volunteers from HIOWAA, many sharing personal experiences of how the charity has touched their lives. Alongside these conversations, the sale of coffee and cakes, and the many generous donations helped us reach our fundraising total.
This event was not only about raising funds but also about raising awareness of the life saving work carried out by HIOWAA. Their specialist paramedics, doctors, and pilots provide critical emergency medical care across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, responding to emergencies where every second counts.
A Heartfelt Thank You
Such a successful event would not have been possible without the hard work and generosity of multiple individuals and organisations. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to:
- Hovertravel – for hosting the event and for their incredible support both in the lead up and throughout the day.
- Island Tea and Coffee – for providing delicious drinks in Ryde.
- Richmond Bakery – for generously donating their beautifully crafted cupcakes.
- Our employees, friends, and family members – for baking and donating cakes and cookies to sell at the event. A special mention to Jack Osborne, our youngest baker, who contributed his time and effort despite his school commitments.
- Our dedicated volunteers – Loren, Natalie, Charlotte, Sarah, John, and Mike – for giving up their time to ensure the event ran smoothly.
The generosity and enthusiasm displayed by everyone involved made this event a true success, and we could not have achieved this without the combined efforts of our partners, customers, and supporters.
Looking Ahead
The success of this Brew for the Crew event has inspired us to continue exploring ways to support HIOWAA and other community-focused initiatives. Reaching the milestone of over £4,700 raised to date is a fantastic achievement, and we remain committed to giving back and strengthening the connections between businesses and local causes.
Once again, thank you to everyone who contributed, donated, and supported this event. Your kindness will help ensure that the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance can continue its vital work, saving lives and providing emergency medical care when it is needed most.
